Andrew Johnston, MS
Andrew Johnston is the Chief Evangelist for ResilientGrid. Prior to that he was President of Energy Thought Summit, Zpryme Research & Publications' messaging and event platform. Johnston led the Central Texas Fuel Independence Project, a public-private partnership led by Austin Energy.
In Austin, Drew has been instrumental in development of the Central Texas region as a globally recognized clean energy & tech corridor, including successful stimulus grant applications, a pivotal role in the funding of Pecan Street Inc, and facilitated the deployment of Pecan Street's independent research-based metering infrastructure for Landis+Gyr. Drew is a proud alumnus of both Ohio State University and University of Texas.
Prior to moving to Austin, Mr. Johnston was Chief of Staff to Jeremy Rifkin, where he supported Mr. Rifkin at the highest levels of the EU, in fields of policy and technology including grid modernization, renewable energy, energy efficiency, R&D and technology commercialization.
Drew received the 2014 Austin Under Forty Award in the Clean Technology and Energy Category.
Experience includes advising on energy and technology policy, managing large-scale projects, leading staffs and campaigns, executing strategy and overseeing business operations, change management, developing a membership association, writing award winning federal grants, account management, new business development, negotiating contracts, policy analysis, policy development, lobbying, and media relations/PR leading to positive media impressions for clients in major media outlets worldwide.
